It is situated in the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland. Zierikzee, a protected cityscape since 1971, one of the protected cityscapes and village views in Zeeland, and is known as a monument city. For a relatively small city, Zierikzee has a large number of monuments, 568! The Sint-Lievensmonstertoren is the most striking monument in Zierikzee. At 62 meters, it is the highest tower in the city. The tower is also popularly called the Dikke Toren. This tower looks exactly like that of the Sint-Romboutskathedraal in Mechelen. The city is quite picturesque and the tower of the city hall is quite prominently visible from different places in the city. I have visited the city several times and enjoyed myself quite a bit taking pictures of all that interests me.
